How to get to the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast is easily accessible for interstate and foreign visitors! Maybe you like to fly direct Gold Coast Airport (OOL), an international airport located on the southern tip of the Gold Coast near Coolangatta. The driving time from the airport to Surfers Paradise it’s about 40 minutes, so you’ll have to make arrangements transport the car rental. Alternatively, you might like to fly Brisbane Airport and head to the Gold Coast. The drive time is about an hour and it is a very easy drive to do car rental, arrange transportation or catch the train.
How are the rooms?
We stayed in room 2509 at the Meriton Suites Surfers Paradise, a 2 bedroom Ocean Suite offering the most incredible views of the Gold Coast. Honestly, we were blown away by the view and how elegant and luxurious our room was. We beloved the.
Located on the corner of the building, our suite offers amazing views Surfers Paradise Beach and out on the horizon. It was like looking out at the whole world. The bedroom was cleverly placed in the corner, providing a stunning view to the north. Heavy curtains and additional sheer curtains play an important role in creating a dark room for sleeping and all-day privacy if needed.
Sitting in the lounge chairs, the beach disappears from sight and it’s like being suspended above the ocean. Constant access to these views is a game changer in the sense that you always feel like you’re on the beach. A room like this ensures you immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Gold Coast and can be in your room without feeling like you’re missing a single moment.
The suite is huge! At 91m2 it is incredibly spacious and feels like your home away from home. With a fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, you can enjoy your stay if you like or go to one of the nearby cafes or restaurants if you prefer. Personally, I like having that option because sometimes you just want to stay in. Here, you can whip up an EPIC shared platter and spend an afternoon sipping cold drinks and watching the sky change color with a better view than any bar on the coastline!
In addition to all of this, our suite also had built-in wardrobes, a huge master bathroom with a bathtub and an additional bathroom, a 58-inch TV in the living room and a 50-inch TV in each bedroom, all compatible with your own device streaming service. There is an in-house laundry with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board and, if you want to catch up on work, an office desk.
I personally enjoy staying in fully self contained apartments as I enjoy being able to make my own tea and coffee, snacks and meals if I feel like it and enjoy the room. I feel like it gives me a chance to fully relax instead of feeling confined to a room and having to constantly leave to find food or get fresh air. The living room and balcony offer you plenty of places to sit and relax, allowing you to stretch out and relax.
What facilities does the property have?
The hotel is packed with additional features to further enhance your stay. There is a beautiful indoor pool and spa overlooking the water, perfect for jumping in for a dip if you don’t feel like wandering the few steps to the beach, or it’s a rainy day and you still want to swim safely. The hotel’s gym and sauna offer you space for exercise and relaxation, and the hotel also offers 24-hour guest services.
Its location is definitely one of the strongest extra features of the hotel! You can easily wander the beach, explore the espanada, relax on the sand, head to the shops or find plenty of great places to eat and fun activities to enjoy from its central location.
