Imagine this. It’s late. Your partner rolls over, slides an arm around you, and says those three little words: “Let’s have sex.” And, of course, you don’t want to because you’ve done this dance before. The whole thing is filled with questions. “Let’s have sex” is the first and “Are you here?” it’s the last one. Not exactly the sexiest way to get in the mood.
Note to descriptors: For the purposes of this article, “we” or “us” as well as “you”, “your” or “your” etc. nod to the writer, individuals, and/or reader as having a vulva while “your partner,” “they,” or “them” nod to a penetrative sexual partner and/or sex toy.
You may need to retune. Maybe you’ve been feeding your partner more instead of focusing on things you like. If you are not sure what you like it, be curious. Wherever you fall on the understated spectrum, my suggestion is effective yet simple: rise to the top. Before you turn a blind eye, let’s take a quick look at some pros of the cowgirl position.
- You choose the moves. If you’re not in the mood for endless (and sometimes tedious, let’s be real) up-and-down action, you can switch things up with horror and new moves. More on these moves soon.
- You have the view. Your first thought might be to be on full screen for your partner, but don’t forget, you can see them too. Let them lie down to enjoy the show below, or have them sit up to get even more sensual with a lotus position.
- You set the pace. Since you choose the moves, you can also choose how many, e.g. take it slow and drive your partner crazy or pick up the pace when you feel good. As Lizzo puts it, us fat b*tches love some rhythm, and it’s true.
The movements
Pelvic tilts
If you’ve never heard of them before, they’re front-to-back movements that tilt your pelvis. To do this, tilt your hips/pelvis back towards your spine. your back will bend. Then relax and allow your pelvis to naturally tilt forward again. (A video here for all you visual learners.)
During penetrative sex, this movement helps to stimulate different areas of the known as clitoral network (or “clitoral complex”). In short, what we know as the G-spot, the clitoris (groom), etc. it’s part of a complex inner region that, you guessed it, has to do with arousal and orgasms.
tl; dr This movement brings the kind of internal stimulation that helps bring you to orgasm. To add even more dimension, use this move and a c-ring for simultaneous stimulation of internal and external clitoral network.
Pelvic cycles
Another move you can try brings your hips fully into action. (Second video here!) To do it, sit down (you don’t have to have impeccable stance but don’t bend!) and move your hips in small circles. The variations are all you. Switch directions occasionally, with each new cycle or whenever it feels right! As a variation of this move, you can also try spelling with your hips to see if you want more letters besides “O” in the story spinning around your hips.
tl; dr This move also means the kind of internal stimulation that helps bring you to orgasm but with a little more visual interest. You will feel like a sex goddess and drive your partner crazy by making him watch. Win-win.
Do you have all these? Good. We hope the information helped us to develop some creativity! It’s never a bad idea to experiment with new or even tried-and-tested moves in the bedroom, especially if it means more pleasure for you. We’ve been in the women’s sexual wellness game since 1993, so we’re all about what helps you close the orgasm gap and make you feel like the powerful and sexy person you are. You deserve it.
