“The best car position is with him sitting in the passenger seat and her on top, facing away from him for some access to the rear entrance,” says the sexologist and couples therapist. Kat Van Kirk. “This position is even better with her legs inside his, keeping the position solid and controlled.”
Why it’s awesome:
“The woman controls the penetration and the pace. There is increased stimulation of the G-spot with rear entry and she or he has access to the clitoris,” says Van Kirk.

“Turn the passenger seat forward and push it as close to the dashboard as possible,” says Lisa Sweet, author of 365 Sexual emotions. “He can then lie down in the back passenger seat, with his legs resting on either side of the passenger headrest. She climbs on top of him facing away from him and, depending on her height and the type of car, can either kneel or bend her legs so that her legs are placed outside his hips. To take it for a test drive, all he has to do is grab the headrest to add some turbo power and shift the stick up, down and around.”
Safety tip: “Turn off the car to avoid taking that last joy ride. Also, put a towel or something else down to protect the seat material. Finally, stay on the passenger side of the car so there are no accidental honks as the action heats up,” says Sweet.

“It’s a space-efficient move that doesn’t compromise enjoyment regardless of the size of the car,” says Sweet. “Any move the woman makes on top means she drives the action, banging and rubbing as she pleases, while he lays back and comes along for the thrill ride. It allows you to sit still and experience the peaceful beauty of joining your body with that of your beloved. The exchange of pulses, which is sometimes known as ‘the secret language’, can be a particularly sensual way of doing this,’ they say.
Johnson and Michaels also describe it as “one of the most intimate sex positions.” That’s because it brings your bodies close together, “aligned and face to face, which makes it great for eye contact,” they explain. “It allows your hands to be free to caress each other or stimulate other erogenous zones. It’s also great for building harmony and connection, as your breathing and emotional states will sync up quite quickly.”

Nicole Prause, PhD, sexual response researcher at Span Lab, says, “Sex is not just genital penetration. Giving oral sex to a driver who has a penis is also a very popular car activity that doesn’t seem to result in much injury from the position. However, there is quite a bit of growth erratic driving with oral sex for a male driver, this is probably best simulated with the engine running after the pull!”
