In this episode, I talk to coach Amanda Kate about recurring patterns in your life that resemble Groundhog Day and her new book Divine. Messy. Human.
Twin Flame Relationship
We started by talking about what it’s like to be in a twin relationship and I mentioned how this shouldn’t be easy. These relationships are often tumultuous. He agreed and admitted that he sometimes wonders why he welcomed it. Then he laughed.
Amanda explained that every day, it’s like having a mirror there, showing her the good and the bad about herself consistently. However, there is such attraction, that it is difficult to imagine life without him. Thus, it is a place for incredible growth and abundance.
We had a good laugh afterwards as she also admitted that there are times she calls a friend and asks if she can just get off the merry-go-round and stop with classes. He just wants a break from it! Who can’t relate to that?
Spiritual growth is not an easy path
When I was younger, I thought the spiritual path would make my life easier, and Amanda burst out laughing at that. He emphasized that spiritual development is not an easy path. Being in your own way means you have to forge it every step of the way.
Yes, it is exciting and wonderful, but it requires a lot of rest, patience and self-care. I shared a story about the eulogy I did for my mom when she passed away and how I told a bunch of stories that started with “My mother taught me…”
I am so lucky because my parents were very supportive of me making my own way. They never made it difficult for me to quit my job or start something new. It wasn’t easy, but honestly, I don’t think I could have lived my life any other way.
We also laughed at how you feel like you need a machete to cut through the brush to find your way! It’s so low tech. Time to upgrade and change your vision to a cutting tool that at least has a gas engine! HAHAHA.
Harnessing your full potential
Switching gears, I asked Amanda about how she helps business owners reach their full potential and magnetically attract ideal clients to them. It turns out there is no magic process.
He said you can’t just imagine Mercedes showing up in your driveway. you have to take action in the 3D world as well. This goes back to forging your own path and taking control of your life.
He also said that when you admit you have no control and embrace uncertainty, that’s where the magic lies. While there are people who can follow a step-by-step process to build business success, it didn’t work for me.
What really helped Amanda was finding the four archetypes of her purpose and passion that revealed her genius. This is what she does with her clients today, because it is very important to find the way you work best.
He takes what he has learned, supplements it by learning from other experts, and takes that work out into the world.
Amanda’s process involves 3 steps
- Set your future vision and learn how you will feel (joy, awe, excitement)
- Then look for your next step
- And take a look behind you for what’s holding you back and needs clearing
Sometimes you can set a time frame and deadline, but it’s not always necessary. There are also situations where it can get in the way. Amanda could totally relate to this because of how her book was completed in just 10 weeks. Once that was said – it just poured out of her.
Amanda belongs to a group called Lunar Life Networking on intention setting, release, forgiveness and gratitude. It’s amazing. And concerning their manifestation, they say: “This or something better is now manifested to me in grace and in perfect ways.”
Is Everyday Groundhog Day?
We talked about routine versus living in a more free-flowing state. For some people, there is a lot of safety and security in the daily routine. Consistency helps them thrive and focus on achieving their goals.
Earlier in her life, everyday life was the same over and over again that she likened to Groundhog Day, the movie. Today, Amanda follows what she feels.
For her, the routine does not allow her to harness creativity and fully express herself. This goes back to the embrace of uncertainty where nothing is the same and anything can happen which creates more opportunities.
Muscle control and kinesiology
Amanda uses muscle testing and applied kinesiology in her practice. This is a blend of Eastern wisdom and Western science. Everything that happens in the body is caused by stress – physical, chemical or emotional.
What is Applied Kinesiology? Also known as muscle strength testing, it is a diagnostic method and treatment based on the belief that muscle weakness can signal problems in the body.
From Amanda’s perspective, the more harmony and energy harmony there is within the body, the healthier you are. It uses this method to find and release blocks related to your business and life, not just health.
Combining all of her skills (which are many), Amanda helps her clients achieve their goals with many non-traditional techniques.
