Use good judgment, take things slow, ask questions, be emotionally available how to vet online dating prospects
Take things slow, ask questions, ask for last name and email, check social networking sites, do google searches, look up sex offender registries (not fully evidential as there is a delay in updating records), meet in public places, notify friends when you go out dates, avoid being picked up in unknown vehicles, ignore unattended drinks, do not provide private financial information and check your own information online.
If someone isn’t willing to meet your friends and family, plans road trips, doesn’t have a social media presence, won’t introduce you to their friends, family, or always seems mysterious about their past, life, then take this as a sign to be extra careful.
If someone compliments you too much, too quickly (especially before the meeting), take it as a red flag. (See the term love-bombing).

How can I find out if my partner, husband is on a dating site? How to find out if wife husband is on dating apps?
Ask him or her. If you can’t have that dialogue, why are you together? If you can’t trust each other, what’s the point of knowing if they have profiles or not?
Just because you have the Bumble app doesn’t mean you’re using the dating feature of the app – you might be using the bizz networking part of the app.
Likewise, just because someone has a profile on a dating app doesn’t mean they’re active, nor does it mean they created the profile. Many profiles are created from public photos in an attempt to phish users.
Others probably use dating apps because their relationship is on the rocks and they’ve given up. If caught, scammers often accuse the victim of being too busy, unavailable, etc. These are classic manipulation tactics – don’t fall for them.
Asking for forgotten passwords or usernames via email is an effective tool. It doesn’t prove anything. It could have been an old account. The dating site could just use the search to raise more suspicion and try to get you to sign up to the app to see for yourself.
The best thing you can do is not be in a relationship where you can’t trust your partner. So simple.
Most dating apps require users to create an account to browse profiles. Most people who use dating apps to cheat on their partner may only use the app when traveling, hide the app on their phone, or only use the website version of the app.
Seeing a friend if they can match your partner, spouse or girlfriend is the only way to know for sure. In some jurisdictions, cheating in a relationship can invalidate a prenup only if this condition is expressly stated in a contract.

What To Do If You Suspect Your Partner Is On Dating Apps – Online Dating History Check
Instead of confronting someone at the first whiff of fraud, document behavior, travel activities, phone alert photos, hear alert sounds when they’re on the toilet, occasionally ask them to use their phone to make a call or take a photo.
Ask friends to create an account and try to match your partner and screen messages, profiles, etc. Ask specific questions when your partner has last minute travel plans or meeting up with friends. Don’t be direct. Ask about where they ate, photos from the trip, who they went with, etc.
Build a case so you have indisputable evidence should a legal issue arise.

On March 15, 2021, Tinder announced that it would soon offer background checks on dates through parent company Match and nonprofit Garbo. More on that here.
Garbo is quite limited in that she “can’t constantly check for restraining orders because courts in most jurisdictions don’t make them readily available online. –Mother Jones. “Users with insufficient information about their possible dates — such as not knowing the person’s phone number or exact date of birth — may have difficulty locating records.”
