Life can be hard for many people, but it seems so easy for others. Because this? When you have an optimistic outlook and appreciate your life as it is, things often tend to get better and better over time. It may seem like someone has it easier on the surface, but very often they don’t, they just deal with things in a more positive way.
When we get angry or play the victim because something doesn’t go as we hoped, we get stuck in a place of resentment.
Realizing that being grateful for some of those uncomfortable life lessons you learn along the way is the answer to achieving higher goals to come. I’m sure you’ve felt the remnants of brokenness from a past relationship and it’s kept you stuck in a sad or negative mindset for longer than you’d like.
Matters of the heart are definitely one of the hardest things to recover from, but you always have a choice of how to proceed when faced with any dilemmas that life throws your way. You can use the lessons you learned from what happened during the breakup or you can choose to stay in a depression and close the door on love. This can often be due to a bruised ego that can keep your thoughts embedded in victim mode.

Stepping stones are a good thing and will bring you closer to finding your life’s purpose.
They also allow you to change and grow with each new experience. Who wants to live in a hallway their whole life? If you’re not evolving on a regular basis, there’s nothing to get excited about. Being stagnant due to fear of failure or fear of trying something new gets pretty boring over time.
The best way to handle the hard knocks that cross your path is to allow yourself to feel the emotions that come with them.
Allow yourself to cry, feel sad or angry for a limited time. Pay attention to the pros and cons that come out of each difficult situation and embrace what you’ve learned. I understand that it can feel like the world is against you at times, but most people experience these feelings during their lifetime. You are not alone. The trick is to quickly observe the lessons and not hold onto things out of anger. It’s important to take responsibility for your part, the choices you made, and use your energy to find a better solution.
Releasing the pain of what happened will help you move in a better direction and give you more clarity about how to deal with the new stepping stones you will be taking. The important thing to take away from this process is not to repeat the same obstacle over and over again. This doesn’t mean giving up on your goals or dreams, it just means trying a different approach moving forward. Own what didn’t work, forgive yourself for the choice you made at the time, and consider it a valuable enlightenment.
Life is full of adversity
Many people want instant gratification and this is where some of the biggest mistakes are made. Some men and women become too impatient and do not appreciate each day on the path where they ardently desire to be. Adversity causes you to look inward so that you have a new or better perspective on what you are trying to achieve.
Before you can achieve your future goals, you must have a vision and a plan for how to get where you are going. Enjoying the journey along the way is part of that learning curve you face. You may even have some after-the-fact trials and tribulations that bring you a new perspective you didn’t expect. Every once in a while, reaching a fork in the road leads to a better path.
It’s so important to be grateful and accept when things don’t go your way because they lead to a much better place where you need to be.
When you’re on the right path in life, things usually aren’t that difficult. Each step you experience requires less and less frustration until you reach your desired goal. I’m not saying you’ll be free of obstacles here and there, but you’ll feel a smooth alignment when you’re close to achieving the end result. You feel balanced and happy because you did your homework along the way and didn’t repeat the same mistakes. You appreciate the rewards and what it took to get here.
This works in relationships too. A healthy partnership is not filled with sadness, control, fear or drama. It flows smoothly because you both communicate openly, address any issues in a mutual way, and quickly move to a harmonious place. Some people get confused and think that a partnership is naturally a drama-filled experience and that it is constantly a work in progress. It definitely takes work to cultivate love between you as a couple, but it should never involve repetitive toxic or controlling behavior.
Whenever you get stuck wondering why something didn’t work in the past, can you now honestly see why it didn’t?
That’s the beauty of time, it shifts your focus to see the reality of what you left behind and how it benefited you moving forward. Having regrets keeps you stuck and prevents you from believing in yourself. If you have nagging doubts and anxiety about the path you’re on, you need to change what isn’t serving you. It could just be a few things that need changing but serve you better.
Most successful people have worked very hard to get to where they are today. Very few of them fall into the victim trap because something didn’t work. They find a new way to improve the problem moving forward. They don’t give up! People are rarely successful overnight and usually have 10-20 years of hard achievements under their belt.
Instead of envying or being jealous of others who have more than you, learn how they got to where they are. What obstacles did they overcome and what steps did they take to improve their success? Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance if you get stuck in a rut and struggle to move to a higher point of self-improvement. It’s always great to have guidance from people you trust and admire.
Closing
Appreciate the fact that you are accomplishing new things because you are not afraid to improve your life, regardless of facing some difficult lessons. It is the people who persevere and do not give up because of their belief in themselves, who continue to achieve dreams and goals. This not only shows courage and perseverance, but also shows character and strength. Taking this ongoing approach is the gift that keeps on giving back.
