Spend the day driving to Big Sur, which is one of our favorite places in California and the US. The scenery is absolutely stunning, with craggy cliffs and forests overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Pismo Beach is a classic southern California beach town. After that, stop in Santa Barbara. This laid-back city has wonderful Spanish-style architecture and palm trees lining the streets.
